G - TROUBLESHOOTING
Planmeca Proline CC panoramic x-ray G-3
Technical Manual
Indication:
No power or action in the unit.
Analysis:
- Disconnect all other but power connector from the board and try if the
fuse still blows. If it blows, the circuit board is defective.
- Connect the connectors back one by one and try if the fuse blows. If it
blows, follow the last connected wire and find the short circuiting parts.
Generator processor board fuse F1
Location:
On the circuit board.
Description:
5 x 20 mm SLOW BLOW glass tube fuse. Rated 1 A.
Function:
To protect the on board switching regulator circuitry
Reasons for blow:
- Continuous overload on board or at parts connected to it.
- Motor controller circuitry defective on either processor board.
- Bad fuse or wrong rating
- Er 61 after power up
Indication:
No power or action in the unit.
Analysis:
- Disconnect all other but power connector from the board and try if the
fuse still blows. If it blows, the circuit board is defective.
- Connect the connectors back one by one and try if the fuse blows. If it
blows, follow the last connected wire and find the short circuiting parts.
Keyboard/display board fuse F1
Location:
On the circuit board.
Description:
5 x 20 mm glass tube fuse. Rated 1.6 A SLOW BLOW.
Function:
To protect the on board switching regulator circuitry
Reasons for blow:
- Continuous overload on board
- Switching regulator defective.
- Bad fuse or wrong rating
Indication:
The display does not light up or work when switching the unit on. The
primary slot motor calibration can be heard.
Analysis:
Try a new fuse. If it blows the circuit board is defective.
Tube power generator board fuse F1
Location:
On the circuit board near connector P1 and the circuit board corner
Description:
6 x 32 mm glass tube fuse. Rated 8 A for 220/240 V; 15 A for 100/110 V
SLOW BLOW.
Function:
Power supply main primary fuse
Reasons for blow:
- Continuous overload on board or at parts connected to it.
- Bad fuse or wrong rating
Indication:
Er 32 at beginning of exposure. Fuse blow during exposure gives Er 11 or
Er 30, and next trial to make an exposure will give Er 32.
Analysis:
Replace fuse and try an exposure. If it blows again the power generator is
defective.
