4. Sample GROUND connection.

Insert the sample puck as shown.

Use blunt tipped tweezers to connect the wire as
shown to the MIDDLE connection. This grounds the
sample.
Tip:
Lower the cell body to get more sample access
by rotating the Engage Control Knob coun-
terclockwise until it reaches its lower limit of travel.
5. Sample user connection.

The middle SMB connector on the front of the scan-
ner connects directly to the third magnet, as shown
in the photo on the top right.
Note:
This is when using the standard gas cell
cable (448.137). There are other cables which
assign the magnet connections differently.

If you do not have a connector then use the cross-
point switch panel to route one of the BNC inputs
from the side of the backpack to the sample line. In
this case there is no ohmic connection because the
input passes through a buffer then through the cross-
point switch and then through another buffer. The
input range is like all the others, +/- 10 V.
