16.4.2 Replacing the laser diode module
1. Remove cover plate.
l
Remove the optics cover if it is in place. See
l
Remove the filter cube, as described in
l
Remove the PD tip-tilt stage cover plate after remov-
ing the 3 screws shown on the right.
Tip:
Be careful not to drop any screws. Use tweez-
ers to hold the screws while unscrewing them, and
place tissue paper underneath to prevent screws
from falling into Cypher hardware, as shown on the
right.
2. Remove laser diode module.
l
Lower the Cypher Head to make room for the blue 2
mm (5/64”) hex key (290.169) to go into the screw
behind the laser diode module.
l
Rotate the hex key counterclockwise until the laser
diode module pops out.
l
Pull the laser diode module out - towards you.
Note:
If you have trouble getting the hex key in,
you can remove the view module, but this should
not be necessary.
