Standard Scanner
Names of the basic components.
The standard scanner is designed primarily for imaging in ambient conditions, either in air or in a
liquid droplet. The optical access to the sample and cantilever is superior to other cypher scanner
models.
Many standard scanner cantilever holders allow for a variety of imaging modes.
The Scanner itself comes in regular and high voltage models. The following image shows the mag-
netic high voltage contact and specialized cantilever holder with high voltage connection to the tip.
This arrangement is typically use for PFM techniques.
