Routine Procedures

Start Up Following a Complete Shutdown

Preparation

If the instrument has been unused for a lengthy period of time, proceed as follows:

Check the level of oil in
the rotary pump sight
glass. Refill or replenish as
necessary as described in
the pump manufacturer’s
literature.

Connect a supply of dry,
high purity nitrogen to the
connector on the service
panel at the rear of the
instrument. Adjust the
outlet pressure to 7 bar
(100 psi).

Connect a supply of argon
to the

CID Gas

connector on the service panel at the rear of the instrument.

Adjust the outlet pressure to approximately 350 mbar (5 psi).

Connect the water supply to the connections at the rear of the instrument.
