Assigning Multiple File Servers
STEP 4: How to Assign Multiple File Servers (continued)
(a) Select Queues Serviced by Printer from the Print Server Configuration
menu.
(b) Select the appropriate printer from the list of Defined Printers. The
screen that appears should be blank for the initial installation procedure.
(c) Press [INS] key to display a list of Available Queues for your printer.
(d) Choose a queue and assign a priority level to the queue (from 1 to 10),
then press Enter. The queue appears on the previous screen.
(e) Press [INS] to enter additional queues.
(f) When you finish assigning queues, escape back to the Print Server
Configuration menu.
If you do not want to set up NOTIFY functions, go to Step 6.
If you want to set up NOTIFY functions, go to the next step.
STEP 5
(a) Select users or user groups to be notified if a problem occurring with a
print job is sent to a NC-2 printer. (For details, refer to Step 5 of Set Up
Notify Options for NC-2 printer(s) in Section 3.)
If this procedure is part of the initial NC-2 installation, then you
are finished. If this procedure is being used after initial NC-2
installation, then go to Step 6.
STEP 6
Power down the NC-2 unit and power it back on. This will attach the file
servers you assigned to the NC-2 print server.
Using Passwords When Multiple File Servers Are Assigned
With multiple file servers assigned, the same (or no) password is used for
all servers when the NC-2 logs into the network. Set a password for the
NC-2 print server using the PCONSOLE utility and the Network Manage-
ment Utility for Windows program (see NetWare Configuration, Section 3).
When power is turned on during the initial installation or any time after-
ward, the NC-2 will log into the network and specify a password for all file
servers assigned to it. If no password is found, no password to login will be
specified.
