NC-2 Configuration Checklist
Workstation > Queue > File Server > Print Server > Printer
•
Using the MAP browser from the workstation, look under Proto-
cols and Protocol Status to check the Print Server status, or to
display the server's queue status.
•
Using PCONSOLE from the workstation, direct the print jobs to
the correct queues, then check to see if the print job is in the queue.
Use PCONSOLE to be sure you correctly configured any devices
you may have changed or added.
•
Make sure the Print Server name is entered correctly as
NC2_<serial number>. If you changed the name using the MAP
browser, be sure to change the name in PCONSOLE to make the
change effective.
•
PCONSOLE Version 1.0 cannot be used to configure the Print
Server. To upgrade PCONSOLE, contact Novell.
•
Use the MAP browser to access the Printer Management System
and check the Uniport configuration. If this port is beingused as
an output port, it must be enabled to receive print jobs.
Print Server/File Server/Printer Connection Checklist
Workstation > File Server > Print Server > Printer
•
If the Print Server cannot log into the File Server or cannot service
jobs from the server, check the following:
•
Check to see if the Print Server is configured for the file server.
If it is not, use PCONSOLE to configure it.
•
Use the MAP browser to access the Printer Management System
and update the password stored in the Print Server. The
password assigned to the Print Server through PCONSOLE must
match the one assigned through MAP.
•
Use PCONSOLE to verify that print jobs are being sent to the Print
Server printer. Be sure the print jobs are in the print queue and are
waiting to be printed. To check this, PCONSOLE must be in the
Remote Printer mode.
