Quality of Service (QoS)
129
The next sections describe how QoS profiles are used and modified.
After this, various traffic groupings are explained and traffic
groupings are assigned to QoS profiles.
QoS Profiles
Eight default QoS profiles are provided. The default QoS profiles
cannot be deleted. Also by default, a QoS profile maps directly to a
specific hardware queue across all physical ports. The default QoS
profile names and their queues are described in Table 30.
1. Each physical port contains these hardware queues.
The parameters that make up a QoS profile include the following:
•
Minimum bandwidth
– The minimum percentage of total link
bandwidth that should be reserved for use by a hardware queue on
a physical port. If the bandwidth is unused by the queue, it can be
used by other queues. The minimum bandwidth for all queues
should add up to less than 90%. The default value on all minimum
bandwidth parameters is 0%.
