Forwarding Database (FDB)
FDB Configuration Examples
The following example adds a permanent entry to the FDB:
create fdbentry 00:D0:B7:2F:02:00 vlan marketing
port 3:4
The permanent entry has the following characteristics:
•
MAC address is 00:D0:B7:2F:02:00.
create fdbentry <mac_address> vlan
<name> [blackhole | <portlist> |
dynamic] {qosprofile <qosprofile>}
Creates an FDB entry. Specify the following:
•
mac_address
— Device MAC address, using
colon separated bytes.
•
name
— VLAN associated with MAC
address.
•
blackhole
— Configures the MAC address
as a blackhole entry.
•
portlist
— Port numbers associated with
MAC address.
•
dynamic
— Specifies that the entry will be
learned dynamically. Used to associated a
QoS profile with a dynamically learned entry.
•
qosprofile
— QoS profile associated with
MAC address.
If more than one port number is associated with a
permanent MAC entry, packets are multicast to the
multiple destinations.
disable learning port <portlist>
Disables MAC address learning on one or more
ports for security purposes. If MAC address
learning is disabled, only broadcast traffic, EDP
traffic, and packets destined to a permanent MAC
address matching that port number, are forwarded.
The default setting is enabled.
enable learning port <portlist>
Enables MAC address learning on one or more
ports.
