Four-character
progress
codes

If
you
have
a
four-character
code
that
begins
with
any
character
other
than
8,
9,
A,
B,
or
E,
refer
to
the
RS/6000
and
Eserver
pSeries
Diagnostic
Information
for
Multiple
Bus
Systems
.
Replacing
the
Primary
Drawer
Operator
Panel
Licensed
programs
frequently
rely
on
system
information
that
is
stored
in
the
VPD
module
on
the
primary
drawer’s
operator
panel.
If
the
MAPs
indicate
that
the
operator
panel
should
be
replaced,
the
pluggable
VPD
module
must
be
swapped.
If
the
old
module
is
defective,
or
cannot
be
recovered,
contact
service
support.
Replacing
the
Network
Adapter
If
a
network
adapter
is
replaced,
the
network
administrator
must
be
notified
so
that
the
client
IP
addresses
used
by
the
server
can
be
updated.
In
addition,
the
operating
system
configuration
of
the
network
controller
may
need
to
be
changed
in
order
to
enable
system
startup.
Also
check
to
ensure
that
any
client
or
server
that
accesses
this
system
is
updated.
