(2) System operation panel
The figure below shows the external appearance of the system operation panel.
As shown in the figure, the system operation panel has an LCD display and three operating
buttons (back, enter, and forward).
The LCD display displays information about the Device.
Pressing the back, enter, or forward button allows you to switch among the menus that can
be displayed on the LCD display.

NOTE
If you press the back and forward buttons at the same time, you can perform a lamp test. For
details about operations in addition to the lamp test and the information that can be
displayed on the LCD display, see 5.1 Base Software Configuration Guide Device
management.
NOTE
If you perform a lamp test, for the fan unit, as well as the control and switching unit and
network interface units whose power is on, the LEDs turn on.
NOTE
The LCD display has a backlight.
The backlight turns on in the following cases:
When the Device is turned on
When a button is pressed
If no buttons are pressed for 60 seconds, the backlight turns off automatically.
If a Device failure occurs, the failure information appears on the LCD display, and the
backlight blinks.
