8.1 Policy-based switching
default (policy-switch-list)
Specifies the default operation for policy-based switching. The default operation refers to
the operation for a packet that cannot be forwarded by any of the output destination
interfaces.
Only one default operation can be set in policy-based switching list information.
Input format
To set or change information:
default {permit | deny}
To delete information:
no default
Input mode
(config-pol-sw)
Parameters
{permit | deny}
Specifies the default operation for policy-based switching.
permit
Packets are forwarded via the normal destination interface.
deny
Packets are discarded.

This parameter cannot be omitted.

Default behavior
Packets are discarded.
Impact on communication
If you change the default operation for the selected policy-based switching list information
which has already been set in the access list, the target packets might be temporality
discarded.
When the change is applied
The change is applied immediately after setting values are changed.
