21.3.2 Obtaining failure information by using FTP
This section explains how to transfer failure information to the remote server by using FTP
(File Transfer Protocol).
To transfer failure information to the remote server by using FTP:
1.
Start the FTP server on the remote server.
2.
Execute the following command to transfer failure information to the remote device:
SP01# export dump-file ftp://account:[email protected]/dump-data
Dump-file creating start.
WARNING: exporting dump file...
exporting to file ftp://account:[email protected]//tmp/dump-data
Note:
dump-data
indicates the error information to be transferred to the remote
server.
21.3.3 Obtaining failure information when the remote server is not accessible
1.
Execute the following command to save the file in non-volatile area of the device
(under
/usr/var/log
).
SP01# export dump-file
ftp://operator:[email protected]//usr/var/log/dump-data
2.
Restore the remote server to an accessible state by, for example, restarting the SP.
3.
From the remote server, use FTP to connect to the SP (by using the
operator
account), and then obtain the failure information created in step 2 in 3.3 from under
/usr/var/log
.
