3.6.3.1
EVM / SNR
Figure 3-22 shows the EVM/SNR Performance Monitoring screen. The eCDi™ acts as
a demodulator and it has the same Output EVM and SNR readings that were shown on
the Performance Monitoring Summary Screen, with the addition of the Reference and
Benchmark readings.
Reference
EVM and SNR are the readings from the ideal signal in the exciter.
Basically, if these readings are good then the digital circuitry in the exciter is working.
An increase in these readings will directly increase the Output EVM and SNR.
BenchMark
EVM and SNR represent a saved Output EVM and SNR reading. See
BenchMarks below for more information.
3.6.3.2
BenchMarks
Up to 5 BenchMarks can be saved on the eCDi™ . Each BenchMark is a Snapshot of all
of the performance metering and graphs that can be overlayed on the active graph and
shown in the Benchmark readings on the Summary screen. Notice that no BenchMark is
selected in Figure 3-22, as both the EVM and SNR read zero in the BenchMark
category. BenchMarks can be saved and turned on or off, from the full screen views of
