Troubleshooting Tips

When using DHCP, connection problems can occur if the computer fails to
release it old IP address. To check this: (Do not type the quote marks)
a.
Open a DOS Prompt and type “ipconfig” and press enter. This
should return an IP address in the range of 192.168.217.1 to
192.168.217.49 . If not, then in the same DOS window type “ipcon-
fig/release” and press enter. Then type “ipconfig/renew” and press
enter.
b.
Type “ipconfig” again to verify an address has been issued in the
range given above.
NOTE:
If connection cannot be made, try
setting the remote computer to a
fixed IP address. Select “Use the
following IP address” as shown to
the right. Then enter the IP address
192.168.217.1
with a subnet mask of
255.255.255.0
(this address is only
valid if you have eCDi™ software
revision 2.6.K or higher). Try Step 2
again. If it still does not work, try
several
different ethernet cables.
NOTE:
If you have an eCDi™ software
revision
before 2.6.K
then enter you
must set a fixed IP address of
192.168.0.1
with a subnet mask of
255.255.255.0
