Chapter 3 PREPARATIONS FOR CUTTING/PLOTTING
3.11 Setting the Cutting Origin
This function allows you to move the starting point of cutting to the desired position as shown in the figure
below.

(1) Use the
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
keys
to move the pen carrage (the tp of the tool selected by the current settng) to the
desred new orgn pont.
(2) Press the
[ORIGIN] key
. The beeper sounds to ndcate that the new orgn has become effectve.
When the
[ORIGIN] key
is held down, the beeper sounds. When you remove your finger from the
[ORIGIN] key
, the
beeper sounds agan and the new orgn becomes effectve.
If the coordnates are rotated or the MIRROR mode selected or cancelled after the orgn has been moved, the orgn
s reset to ts default poston. However, f the
[ORIGIN] key
s held down, the orgn s not reset to ts default poston
even when the ROTATE or MIRROR mode s cancelled. To reset the newly regstered orgn pont to ts default
poston, move the cutter pen n the drecton towards the lower left pont untl t stops, and then ether hold down the
[ORIGIN] key
or turn on the power whle pressng the
[ORIGIN] key
.
If you ntend to use the ORIGIN functon n combnaton wth the ROTATE or MIRROR functon, be sure to set the
ORIGIN functon after settng the ROTATE or MIRROR functon.

The ORIGIN point setting becomes invalid when the Registration Mark mode is specified.
•
After a new origin has been set, the coordinates being displayed on the LCD represent the distances along the X and
Y axes from the new origin.

Please see Chapter 4, "Registration Mark Settings and Detection" for the origin position after the automatic
registration mark reading function has been used.
