Configuring the Director
EMC representative to determine if fabric-format RSCNs will cause
problems with your HBA or storage products.
Director Speed Click the drop-down list, and select either 1 Gb/sec or 2 Gb/sec. This
option sets the system-wide internal data speed through the director.
This speed will appear in the Director Speed field of the Director
Properties window. If the director model does not support two data
speeds, this option does not appear.
Your director model and firmware may not allow 2 Gb/s data speeds.
When setting the director speed, consider the following:

Configure port speeds individually through the Configure Ports
dialog box. You cannot set a director speed to less than the port
speeds. If you set the director speed to 1 Gb/sec and at least one
port is configured at 2 Gb/sec, an error message states that you
cannot modify the director speed.

All installed CTP cards must support 2 Gb/s data speed or the
option to change speeds is unavailable.

When you change the speed to 2 Gb/sec, all ports on the FPM
port cards go to an inactive state. A warning/confirmation
message also displays, allowing you to continue the operation or
cancel. Only universal port module (UPM) cards allow 1 Gb/sec
and 2 Gb/sec operation.

Director firmware must support the 2 Gb/sec data rate.
