NETWORK
Use it to check the connections related to the network.
PING
Use it to check the connection between the machine and the network (for
TCP/IP environment only).
Caution
Use this mode to check the connection to the network after installing the
machine or when the connection to the network is found to be poor.
Using the Mode
1) Turn off the main power switch.
2) Connect the network cable to the machine, and turn on the main power
switch.
3) Inform the user’s system administrator that the machine has properly
been installed, asking him/her to make the appropriate network settings.
4) Inform the system administrator that the network connection will be
tested, and find out the remote host address (i.e., IP address of the PC
terminal on the user network) for PING.
5) Make the following selections in service mode:
COPIER>TEST>NETWORK>PING; then, enter the IP address obtained
in step 4), and press the OK key.

If the connection to the network is correct, ‘OK’ will be indicated.
•
If ‘NG’ is indicated, check the connection of the network cable; if cor
rect, go to step 6). If a fault is found in the connection of the network
cable, correct the fault, and go to step 5).
