9-56 Upgrading Your Server

Installing an Additional Battery for the RAID Controller

Take the following steps to install an additional battery for the RAID Controller.

2.5-inch Disk Model

See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier.

Pull out the server from the rack.

Remove the top cover.

Remove the riser card.

IMPORTANT:

Carefully remove the riser card taking care not to touch the other components.

Disconnect the cables from the RAID Controller.

Remove the screws securing the RAID Controller, then remove the RAID Controller.

Screws

Install the connector board provided with the additional battery to the RAID Controller.

Use screws that come with the additional battery.
