5.18 RECHARGING THE SUSPENSION CYLINDER
ACCUMULATORS
NOTE: Use Extreme Caution when servicing the Trailer Suspension Hydraulic Cylinders. Make sure
nothing is in the pinch zone between the main frame and the axle arm and housing.
1. Connect the sprayer to a tractor. Connect the hydraulic hoses and the electrical connections. Start the tractor
and engage the boom hydraulic circuit. Turn the suspension electrical switch, inside the tractor cab, to the on
position.
2. Place a block between the Axle Housing and the
Trailer Frame. on both sides, as shown in 5.29.
3. Carefully, crawl under the trailer and push down on
both lower suspension micro switches until the trailer
frame makes contact with the block.
4. Shut down the tractor. Disconnect the hydraulic
hoses and switch off the suspension electrical switch,
inside the tractor cab.
5. Go to the suspension hydraulic valve mounted under
the front of the trailer hitch. See Fig. 5.30. Mark
the hoses which are connected to the side of the
block, top and bottom.
6. Place a pail under the valve to catch the oil which
will come out of the hoses.
7. Slowly loosen the hoses connected to the side of the hydraulic block. Loosen the hoses until there is
approximately 1 thread holding the hose to the block. Remember, the hoses are under pressure As the oil
comes out of the hose, the sprayer trailer will drop until it settles on the blocks placed in step #2. Make sure
nothing is in the pinch zone between the main frame and the axle arm.

5. If socket # 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19 or 20 do not show a voltage, turn off
the tractor ignition switch, remove the back cover from the switch control and
check the individual switches using an Ohm meter. Touch the probes on the switch’s
soldered pins and press the switch, If the switch is faulty, the meter will not move.
If the switch tests good, check the wiring harness with the Ohm meter.
