Problem
Hydraulic oil heat buildup (con’t)
Pressure is too high.
Liquid leaking at the junction
of centrifugal pump and
hydraulic motor
Hydraulic motor operates in an
erratic manner.
Possible Causes
Load Sense tractor is being used with
closed centre configuration.
Agitation plumbing too restrictive.
Electric regulator valve closed.
Excessive motor speed on pump.
Tractor oil flow capacity too high.
Improper valve positioning.
Plugged nozzles.
If water is leaking, the pump seal is
worn.
If oil is leaking, the motor seal is
worn.
Hydraulic system malfunction.
Hydraulic motor wear.
Oil transfer restriction at hydraulic
couplers.
Improperly crimped hydraulic hose
end.
Possible Solutions
Add the Hydraulic Block Conversion
kit for Load Sensing tractors.
Be sure agitation valve is fully open.
Check agitators for correct orifice
size.
Operate switch on remote control box
to open valve to decrease pressure.
On open centre tractors, decrease oil
flow through hydraulic motor by
turning bypass valve adjustment screw
counterclockwise. On tractors with a
hydraulic flow control adjustment,
reduce oil flow.
Reduce oil flow on tractors equipped
with hydraulic oil flow control
systems. Check that the Ace pump is
compatible with our tractor. Contact
your sprayer dealer for assistance.
Supply, agitation and tank return
valves must be open.
Check that nozzles are free of
obstruction and clean if needed See
Section 5.5.
Replace pump face seal.
Replace seal in hydraulic motor.
Check hydraulic system for air or fluid
leaks. Check fluid for proper quantity
and viscosity.
Faulty flow control on the tractor.
Inspect motor for excessive wear.
Replace if necessary.
Check that couplers are clean and in
good condition. Replace if necessary.
Check hoses for restriction at fitting
crimp and replace if necessary.
