6.7 SELECTOR VALVE FOR THE 100’ BOOM TIP
The Selector Valve for the 100’ Boom Tip is located on the Outer Boom side of the Inner to Outer Boom hinge
joint. The Selector Valve is used to hydraulically move the Boom Tip into position after the Outer Boom Tip has
been fully extended. The Outer Boom should be completely extended before the Selector valve is actuated to
fold the Tip. The bolt threaded into the Selector Valve is what is used to adjust the valve.
Before adjusting the Selector Valve, the Outer Boom must be rotated into field position and the alignment
adjusted as shown in Section 6.2.
If the Tip Boom is rotating before the Outer Boom is fully extended:
a. Loosen the jam nut on the Selector Valve bolt and turn the bolt in.
b. Continue rotating the Outer Boom until it is fully extended.
c. Adjust the bolt in the Selector Valve until the plunger in the valve has been fully compressed. Tighten the jam
nut.
If the Tip Boom does not rotate after the Outer Boom is fully extended:
a. Loosen the jam nut on the Selector Valve bolt and adjust the bolt until the plunger in the valve has been fully
compressed. Tighten the jam nut.
