5.21 PRESEASON PREPARATION
1. Check the tire pressures and the wheel bolt tightness on the trailer wheels. See Table 8.4.
2. Check the tire pressure of the boom touchdown wheels (if installed). Make sure they rotate freely.
3. Check the hydraulic system for functionality and leaks.
4. Check the tanks for cracks.
5. Inspect the spray booms and hoses. Replace defective parts.
6. Check the nozzles to make sure they are all at the same angle.
7. Prime the pump and flush out booms with approximately 50 gallons (200 liters) of water.
8. Check the plumbing assemblies for leaks.
9. Replace the boom end plugs and install the nozzle strainers and tips.
10. Refer to Plumbing Operation, Sections 4.2 to 4.10 for start up and setting procedures.
11. Check the operation of the breakaway trip mechanism.
12. Recharge the accumulators attached to the back of the hydraulic block to 650 psi. If the sprayer is equipped
with Wind Screens, recharge the accumulators to 1500 psi.
13. Recharge the accumulators attached to the left and right tilt cylinders to 650 psi.
14. If the sprayer is equipped with Suspension, recharge the accumulators in the suspension cylinders to 650 psi.
