3.7 FOLDING THE BOOMS
CAUTION!
Be sure the area is open enough for the wing booms to fold in. Be sure no one is within
the danger area when folding the sprayer.
DANGER!
Electrocution Hazard - Be aware of overhead electrical lines during folding and unfolding.
DANGER!
Hitch Upending Hazard - Make sure the sprayer is securely fastened to a tractor while in
field position. This sprayer has ‘Negative Hitch Weight’ when the booms are in field
position and the sprayer tank is empty. Serious injury or death will result.
Never disconnect the tractor from the sprayer when the booms are in field position.
IMPORTANT: To prevent sprayer damage, do not fold in the booms at an excessive speed. Turn down
the tractor flow control valve or throttle down during the fold out cycle.
NOTE: All of the hydraulic functions on the suspended boom sprayer are controlled through one hydraulic circuit,
except the sprayer pump, which is connected separately. Maximum flow to the hydraulic block should be 7
gpm (32 Lpm) therefore flow to this circuit may be reduced if your tractor has a flow control. More flow can
be sent, but it is not desirable. On open center tractors, be sure the Open Centre Solenoid Valve kit is
installed. On load sensing tractors, be sure the Load Sensing Solenoid Valve kit is installed. The desired boom
folding speed should be adjusted with the tractor’s flow control.
DANGER
ELECTROCUTION HAZARD
To prevent serious injury or
death from electrocution:
Stay away from overhead
power lines when raising or
folding the booms.
THIS MACHINE IS NOT GROUNDED.
ELECTROCUTION CAN OCCUR
WITHOUT DIRECT CONTACT.

DANGER
HITCH UPENDING HAZARD
Be certain no upward force is exerted on
the tractor hitch by the sprayer tongue to
prevent sprayer hitch from rising abruptly.
1. Always park sprayer on level ground.
2. Never disconnect tractor from the sprayer
while booms are in field position. Fold
booms into transport position before
disconnecting.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS
COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
