IP
ADDRESS IDENTIFICATION FOR
DHCP
MODE OF OPERATION
1.
Start with the power supply in the power-off state.
2. Connect a RJ-45 network cable from the power supply to the network with the DHCP
server.
3. Power on the power supply and allow the power supply to perform its initialization.
4. Identify the IP address assigned to the power supply by accessing the DHCP server,
by any of four ways:
a) Asking your network administrator.
b) Discovering it with a VXI-11 compliant discover program.
NOTE:
The power supply is VXI-11 compliant, so even without access to the
DHCP server, it is still possible to discover the IP address assigned to the
power supply with programs such as National Instrument’s NI-VISA.

d) Using a computer serial communications program such as Tera Term, set for the
same baud rate as Asterion DC Multioutput Series power supply (Refer to Section
4.2.2) no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit. Use SCPI command
SYST:NET:IP?
to get
the IP address.

5. The power supply hardware is now configured. Open Web browser and enter the IP
address of the power supply to view the Home page of the power supply. Refer to
Figure 6-12.
