General Maintenance

Slide the new heater and temperature sensor into the heater sleeve
(
Figure 16 ).
2 Reinstall the setscrew.

Slide the heater sleeve onto the GC/MS interface. Align the heater sleeve
so the screws are on top. Tighten the screws evenly.

Slide the insulation onto the GC/MS interface.

Reinstall the GC/MS interface cover. Make sure the wires from the heater
and sensor pass through the cutout in the interface cover.

Reconnect the MS to the GC. See step 1 on page 87.

Reconnect the GC/MS interface cable to the GC. Reinstall the capillary
column.

Pump down the MS. See the Agilent 7000 Series Triple Quad GC/MS
Operation Manual .

Turn on the GC. Enter appropriate temperature setpoints for the GC/MS
interface and GC oven.
C A U T I O N
There is a shallow groove along the inner surface of the insulation. This groove must
line up with the heads of the screws in the heater sleeve. If it does not, you can crack
or otherwise damage the insulation.
