When the truck has been parked for a long time, close the wheel valves. At an
ambient temperature lower that –35 °C open the wheel valves 15–20 km after be-
ginning of travel.
Upon opening the wheel valves blow through the tire pressure control system
with the air from the tires (see the Section “Central Tire Pressure Control System”).
29. When towing the truck with the shut
-
down engine, the primary and in-
termediate shafts of the gearbox do not rotate, and in this case the oil pump does
not operate and does not deliver grease into the bearings of the main shaft gears
and on conical surfaces of the synchronizers, and it will cause seizing of the sliding
surfaces, wear of the synchronizer rings results in failure of the whole gearbox.
To perform towing disengage the clutch and shift the direct (fourth) gear in the
gearbox or disconnect the gearbox from the transmission. Towing of the truck for a
distance exceeding 20 km without disconnecting the cardan shaft or pressing the
clutch with the engaged gearbox is not permitted.
30. Manoeuvring, particularly while reversing, do not allow big angles of the
road train folding to avoid damage of the drawbar.
31. When using a trailer at an ambient temperature less than -25 °C, do not
leave the rubber buffer of the drawbar under load before a long parking to avoid
freezing of the pressed rubber bumper and appearing an axial clearance in the
drawbar. Disconnect the trailer or unload the axial load from the rubber buffer by
moving the truck forwards and backwards.
32. When a loader having a total weight exceeding 3200 kg is running onto the
truck platform, put shields (boards) under its wheels.
33. Put heavy small
-
sized cargoes, which can cause local sagging of the plat-
form floor or damage the body sides and seat components, onto sills (boards) and
fix them securely. Place the cargo so that its centre of inertia is located in the mid-
dle of the truck platform.
34. The truck loading height was increased on URAL-4320-0611-10 truck.
Due to increasing the truck centre of inertia its static lateral stability decreased.
35. In connection with increasing the effort on the diaphragm clutch pedal
without a pneumohydraulic booster and due to the fact that the clutch can not be
released, if the pressure is not available in the supplying bottle of the clutch re-
leasing air cylinder, it is not recommended to park the truck with an engaged gear
for a long time (exceeding four hours).
If after parking the truck for a long time or for the reason of high air leaks, the
complete air leakage occurred and the gear is engaged, it is necessary to disengage
the gear (setting in the neutral position) by alternate turning the engine crankshaft
to the right and left through approximately 180
o
, using the technique described in
the Section “Adjustment of Valve Timing Mechanism” of the Operation manual for
YAMZ-236M2 and YAMZ-238M2 trucks or release the clutch by filling the
pneumatic system by the compressed air with the help of another truck via the
towing valve.
36. URAL-44202-0311-31* bolster trucks equipped by lighting devices in
conformity with GOST R 41.48 Standard can only operate with semi-trailers which
have a distance from the pin to the nearest part of the mechanism of the semi-
trailer supporting device not less that 2000 mm.
