density checking, 20 min after their saturation, provided that the batteries have been
stored not more than a year, and they are being made serviceable at the tempera-
ture of the batteries and electrolyte to be 15 °C minimum.
If it is required to put into operation the dry-charged batteries, which are
stored at negative temperatures, down to -30 °C, urgently, fill them with the elec-
trolyte, having a density of 1.26-1.28 g/cm
3
and a temperature of 38-42 °C.
In so doing prepare the electrolyte in two stages as per Tabl. 9. Fill in the
batteries with the electrolyte, leave them for an hour and then mount onto the truck.

he electrolyte level should be 10-15 mm above the safety shield. Charge the
batteries, when the nearest opportunity occurs, and bring the electrolyte density to
its norm.
Order of battery operation.
In the course of operation do not connect the
battery terminals to each other to test them for sparking.
Determine, how much the battery is charged (Tabl. 10) by the electrolyte den-
sity, taking into account the temperature correction. The battery discharged by more
than 25 % in winter and more than 50 % in summer should be removed and charged.
