In each particular case the transportation conditions should be agreed upon
with the railway station of departure. To make the truck suit to the railway overall
sizes 02-BM, GOST 9238-83 Standard, remove the canopy and arches from the
truck platform body.
When transporting the trucks by air
, preparatory work should be done and
truck cushioning should be additionally disengaged by special devices manufac-
tured and supplied by a consignor. The design of the devices, which disengage the
cushioning, should prevent their falling out, when vibrations occur, and the selected
material should prevent creasing as it can result in slackening of the truck fixing.
The truck fuel tanks should be half
-
filled. Place and fasten the truck as per
special diagrams.
When transporting the trucks by water transport
, load the truck without any
cargo in its body.
Method of loading, placing and fastening of the truck with special equip-
ment mounted on its chassis are described in operation manuals for the equip-
ment.
The trucks are transported in marine vessels in all the rooms intended for car-
goes (holds, twin decks), the trucks are transported on the top deck upon consent of
the owner of the cargo (sender).
Place the trucks in the hold and on the deck, so that the distance between
them is not less than 250 mm on the radiator side and not less than 130 mm on the
other sides.
Upon placing the truck on the vessel, perform the preparatory work, fasten the
truck to prevent its longitudinal and lateral motion with special mooring devices
available with the vessel or with bracing cables. Tighten the bracing cables by
twisting their wires by crow bars until the secure fixing of the truck has been pro-
vided. Slackening of the bracing cables or their separate wires is not permissible.
Fasten the bracing cables to the front towing hooks, and to rear towing unit.
The fastening variants are shown in Fig. 122, 123.
On the bolster truck fasten the bracing cables for its rear towing hooks. The
mooring devices or bracing cables should not be in contact with the truck tires. If
the trucks are placed crosswise in the vessel, put brake shoes under the truck
wheels.
Place and fix the trucks as per vessel diagram.
Responsibility for placing and fastening the truck, when transporting it, is
borne by forwarders.
