Cardan Drive

Torque is transferred from the gearbox to the transfer box and truck driving axles

via cardan shafts (Fig. 34). The cardan shafts are of open type, having a complex

packing (Fig. 35) of needle bearings in the joints.

The front and rear axle drive cardan shafts are similar in design differing by the

length and by the dimension on the flange attached, namely from the axis of the
