A special caution is given by the manufacturer regarding the necessity to
observe safety rules strictly, when mounting the tyres (see chapter “wheels and
tyres”).
11. While lowering the spare wheel, keep yourself out of reach of the wheel
holder hinged bracket.
12. It is prohibited to use the truck without lock spring ring 14 (See Fig.92) and
winged nut 7 of the storage battery compartment cover.
13. To avoid falling down the storage batteries in the course of their servicing
on the truck move the battery out of the container only on the container hinged
cover, make sure it is fixed securely in its horizontal position.
14. Check condition of the insulation of the wire from “+” battery terminal to
the starter. Damaged insulation can cause fire.
15. When upgrading, select the required gear in good advance.
16. When carrying passengers in cab, fix the r.h. door lock of the cab by turn-
ing the lock handle downwards.
17. When crossing gutters or rough ground, do not allow the semi-trailer
front to thrust against elements of the bolster truck, because the semi-trailer
kingpin can get free from the fifth wheel catches (spontaneous unhitching).
18. Hitch and unhitch the trailer (semi-trailer) on an even flat side.
19. Before unhitching the bolster trucks, the semi-trailer support rollers
should rest on the ground. Unhitching is not allowed if there are clearances between
the rollers and ground.
20. When using the winch:
- do not stay under the cargo to be transferred as well as close to the ten-
sioned rope;
- avoid kinks or knots on the rope as they can result in its damage and break.
When extending the rope across the road, put a guard and warning signs prohibit-
ing to pass.
21. Perform welding on the truck, observing fire safety measures. Connect the
welder ground conductor close to the weld spot, having prevented the electric cur-
rent passing through bearing and friction pairs.
22. If it is required to dismantle the power unit on URAL-4320-10
trucks
with
a diaphragm clutch, screw an eye bolt into the rear end of the cylinder head.
The eye bolt is enclosed in the box of truck spare parts, tools and accessories.
