When starting up the Coral system, ensure that there are no SAU Fault
messages during start-up or SAU Alarms (PI Branch: Root, 1, 1,
15-Controls) due to any one of the following three reasons:



a missing SAU device



inappropriate software for this type of system



mismatched SAU serial numbers on the CFD and SAU device

SAU Unique Serial Numbers

Each SAU is assigned a unique, factory set, system identification serial number which

enables the feature authorizations and Coral generic software version for the Coral

system.

illustrates the four side views of the SAU, including sample ID

numbers. The left side includes the country code, while the right side includes the

unique serial number. The last digit of the serial number is a verification digit. Any

leading zeros, as well as the verification digit do not appear in the SAU number

reported in the PI root menu.

SAUs for Redundant Systems (HSB)

For Redundant, Hot Standby systems, the software detects the information embedded

on both SAU devices (one on each 32GC) and verifies that the same Coral version is

loaded on both SAUs and set for the Hot Standby dual control configuration.

The SAU installed on the right side of the system control shelf is given a different

serial number than the one installed on the left side. The technician must ensure that

the SAU device serial number must match the CFD card serial number, installed on

the side panel of the

corresponding

MCP-ATS.

Verify that the SAU device serial number (market number and serial number bar codes

together) matches the SAU serial number on the corresponding CFD card label,

inserted in the MCP-ATS on the same side of the control shelf.

Otherwise, the system will automatically shut down after 14 days.
