Coral FlexiCom 6000 Installation Manual

ion

A new lithium battery can maintain power to memory circuitry and real-time clock for

approximately 90 days. The battery is

not

recharged by the system power. Therefore,

if the battery is nearly depleted, the contents of the memory must be backed up and the

battery replaced. The backup battery includes an insulator that is removed before

inserting the card into its slot. Refer to the layout drawing of every control card for the

location of the battery insulator position and the direction of removal. For 32GC cards,

an alarm message is displayed on the PI terminal. See

page 3-16

Testing the Lithium Battery

The battery voltage, tested under load, can be used to determine its state of charge.

Voltage measured across an unused battery connected to the memory circuitry must be

between 3.30 and 3.35 volts. If the voltage is less than 2.50 volts, replace the battery.

For first time use, remove the protective battery insulator. See the layout drawing of

the relevant control card.

Replacing the Lithium Battery

Carefully lift the battery with your thumbnail.

Insert the new battery with the + (positive) symbol appearing on top.

Lithium Backup Batteries

Do not use any metal tool to release or insert the battery. Doing so could result in a

short circuit and damage the battery.

Explosion and Environmental Hazards.

There is a danger of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace the battery

only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of

used batteries according to requirements specified by the battery manufacturer and/or

local regulatory agencies.
