The RPS voltage is adjusted in the following manner.

Select the desired voltage on the output transformer, see

Figure 7-4

. Verify that no

8SLS, 16SLS, 24SLS, 4SH/S, 8SH/S, 16SH/S, 4SH/S-LL, 8SH/S-LL, 16SH/S-LL, or 8SM

peripheral cards are inserted in any peripheral card slot fed by the RPS during the

adjustment process. Each RPS slot in a peripheral even shelf may be wired to supply

ring voltage to the adjacent odd peripheral shelf. See

RPS/PPS Alarm Cabling beginning

on page 6-36

Insert the RPS into the RPS card slot (far left) and turn the power switch ON. Measure

the AC voltage across the test points TP1 and TP2 using a high impedance, AC

voltmeter; set for the 200 volt or next higher scale. Adjust the output voltage using the

front panel potentiometer. With no load, adjust the output voltage to read within 5 volts

of the selected output transformer tap voltage.

Table 7-2

lists the acceptable output

voltage range of the RPS for each of the three output voltage selection taps. Never

adjust the output voltage between 90VAC and 100VAC, or greater than 110VAC.
