System Diagnostics

The PI enables checking the status of the PB-ATS, PPS and RPS cards located on the

Peripheral Shelves for any and all of the Peripheral Shelf Units. If any of the cards are

found to be faulty, the PI describes the card and the card location so that it may be

removed. Certain card faults invoke alarm messages that are immediately displayed

on the PI screen regardless of whether an inquiry was made.

To View the Peripheral Shelf Card Status

Access the Peripheral Shelf UNITS branch by typing

SYSGEN, 5

from

anywhere in the PI or enter

0,0,0,5

from the Root Menu.

The PI prompts:

0-Update

1-Display

Enter

to display the parameters and their current values.

Enter the range of Units to be viewed from the lowest Unit to the highest Unit.

FROM UNIT# -
TO UNIT# -

The default range is 0 to 7 representing Peripheral Shelf Units 0 to 7.

Enter the required number.

The technician may specify a single parameter to view, by entering the

parameter name or its field number.

Press Enter to enable the default, which displays all the related parameters and

their values.

Table 4-5

displays the UNITS parameters below with a brief description of

each parameter. Field numbers are displayed in brackets.
