Power cycling the module used with S7-300 F-CPUs
Statement of the problem
When the ET 200AL F-DI 4 + F-DQ 2 module is used with S7-300 F CPUs (PROFIsafe V2.4), there are certain power cycling
situations which can lead to the module powering up in an error state. If the system is operating in RUN state and either of
the following conditions occur, then the problem can occur:
•
The module is power cycled indpendently
• The module and interface module (IM) are power cycled simultaneously
If the problem occurs
Perform one of the following actions to restore the module to normal operation:
•
Power cycle the IM independently
• Power cycle the CPU independently
• Download the hardware configuration to the F-CPU using STEP7 (TIA Portal) or Step 7 Classic
Steps to avoid the problem
The problem can be avoided by ensuring that for any situation in which the module is power cycled with the system in RUN
state:
•
The CPU and the IM are also power cycled simultaneously with the module, or
• The CPU and/or the IM are power cycled independently after the module has completed its power cycle
