(go to setup) All the standa r d r eco r ding modes, p lus MN1 to MN32 ,
LPCM and XP+ modes can be set.
Off • Just the standa r d r eco r ding modes ( XP , SP , LP , EP , SLP and
SEP ) can be set.

Optimized Rec On The r eco r ding quality of time r r eco r dings is automatically
adjusted to fit on to the selected media if it will not fit at the
selected quality setting. If the
r eco r ding will not fit even at
MN1
(
MN4
fo r DVD+R/+RW), then the r eco r ding will be
made to the HDD in the o r iginal quality selected.
Off •
When a time r r eco r ding is set that won’t fit on to the selected
media, the r eco r ding sta r ts but is cut off when no mo r e
r eco r ding is p ossible.
Optimized Rec will only compensate for the next scheduled timer recording if more than one is set.
Set Thumbnail 0 seconds •
Sets the default thumbnail p ictu r e in the Disc Navigato r to
the fi r st f r ame of the title.
30 seconds Sets the default thumbnail p ictu r e to 30 seconds into the
title.
3 minutes Sets the default thumbnail p ictu r e to th r ee minutes into the
title.
Auto Chapter
(HDD/VR) On • When r eco r ding to the HDD o r a VR mode DVD, cha p te r
ma r ke r s a r e inse r ted at the black sc r een between
comme r cials and main pr og r amming. When r eco r ding f r om
a DV camco r de r , cha p te r ma r ke r s a r e inse r ted at the p oint
whe r e the date/time switches on the r eco r ded sou r ce.
