Cypher SPM

User Guide

6. Load the new cantilever.

Use tweezers to slide the new cantilever under the
clip. You can push or pull the cantilever into place as
you find comfortable.

Nudge the cantilever chip from the side so that the
tip is approximately centered in the cantilever holder
window.

Do not nudge the end of the chip, as you risk

damaging the cantilever.

It helps to do this at least once under a binocular ste-
reo microscope.

7. Secure the new cantilever.

Using fingertip pressure only, lightly tighten the
screw securing the cantilever to the cantilever
holder.

The clip should be just tight enough to secure the
cantilever chip when it is pushed from the side.
