Changing The Cantilever On An Environmental

Scanner

You need the following items to perform the tutorial:

Cantilever

You will need the chosen cantilever for the experiment you are preparing.
Every Cypher SPM ships with a package of AC160s.

Tools

Part# 290.102: Tweezers with curved tips.
Part# 290.106: 300 Philips screwdriver..

1. Select the cantilever holder.

Identify the correct cantilever holder for your exper-
iment.

This tutorial uses the standard gas holder, part#
901.758.

Tip:

2. Prepare the cantilever mounting workspace.

Set out your cantilever holder, tweezers, and can-
tilevers on a clean, well lighted surface.

A low power binocular dissection stereoscope with
light source can be useful for some of the following
steps.

Tip:

Cleaning the tweezer tips with alcohol

improves the handling of the cantilevers.
