C-2   Quad-Speed CD-ROM Reader Configuration

■  

Audio output connector
This output provides a connection for an external
amplifier or audio board. This output can be connected
to the CD auxiliary inputs on the amplifier or the input
port on an audio board.

 NOTE:   Volume from the audio output connector is
controlled by an external amplifier or audio board.
The volume control on the front of the CD-ROM
reader has no effect on the volume from this
connector.

Configuration jumpers
These jumpers enable or disable the cable select feature,
the slave device configuration, and the master device
configuration (see the following jumper descriptions).

■  

IDE connector
The IDE connector allows the connection of the reader
to the PCI/IDE connector on the system board via the
PCI/IDE cable.

■  

Power connector
The power connector allows the connection of the reader
to the computer’s power supply via the power supply
cable.

 Use the following jumper setting information to set your
CD-ROM reader configuration.

 NOTE:   The CD-ROM reader jumpers are set
correctly at the factory for your configuration.
