Horizontal Rack Installation

The µSDM-1 multiplexer unit is installed on the horizontal shelf as indicated in
Figure

4-8.

To install the horizontal multiplexer shelf:

1. Attach the shelf (1) to the rack with the universal rack attachment angle

bracket (2). The bracket is reversible and is suitable for both 19” and
standard ETSI racks.

2. Place the

SDM-1 unit on the shelf.

3. Secure the multiplexer with the retaining bracket (3); tighten the bracket

wing nuts.

4. Secure the grounding cable (4) to the shelf and the multiplexer grounding

attachment mount as indicated in Figure

4-8.

5. Horizontally mounted multiplexers must include a factory-installed internal

fan cooling unit.
