The DCC bytes that will be passed through in Clear Channel mode (MS or RS)
depend on the setting made previously in the DCC Operation Mode field. If the DCC
Operation Mode is set to MS on both the East and West sides of the NE, the RS
bytes will be passed through; if the DCC Operation Mode is set to RS on both the
East and West sides of the NE, the MS bytes will be passed through; if the DCC
Operation Mode is set to different values for the East and West sides, Clear Channel
mode is disabled.
Equipment
When you click the plus sign next to the Equipment group, the following parameters
and sub-groups related to the equipment configuration of the NE are displayed.
Transceiver East/West - select one of the following from the Token Values field:
OPIS3, LO5, ELI.
TRIB Type - select the parameter and then select the basic tributary module installed
in the
µ
SDM-1 NE. This refers to the number of E1 ports on the basic model, which
can be 8, 21 or 21E (extended model).
TEX Type - select the parameter and then select the TEX module installed in the
µ
SDM-1 NE. Note that unless the value of the TRIB Type field was set to TRIB21E,
you can not change the value of this parameter.
NOTE
:
If you are using the Installation window to change the
attributes of an existing NE, and the TEX module has cross
connections associated with it, you cannot change this
parameter value.
Timing Unit Type

- Always select

Routing Table
NOTE
:
For NEs in which the IP Interface Configuration is set
to
DCC Only
, no entries to the routing table can be added.
Routing table entries are necessary when more than two
subnets are used in every NE.
As described in detail in Chapter 4 of the eEM User Manual, the eEM supports user-
defined IP routing. The routing table defines how IP datagrams are routed between
LANs and/or other managers. More specifically, you can define routing table entries
in the
µ
SDM-1 NE to route datagrams to other LAN segments (i.e., route datagrams
