4.5 Connecting the BCU-10 Battery Charger
Unit (Equipment Option)
The BCU-10 is a wall-mounted battery charger unit that supplies power to the
µ
SDM-1 cabinet. It consists of four 12 VDC batteries and a Power Supply (PS)
module.
Figure 4-20 shows an open view of the BCU-10 unit. Table 4-2 details the different
parts of the BCU-10.
Install the BCU-10 unit as follows (refer to Figure 4-20):

: Do not insert the protection fuse until the DC out
cable is connected to the µ SDM-1 cabinet.

1. Verify that the BCU-10 package contains the following parts:

2. Remove the four bolts securing the cover of the BCU-10 unit; remove the cover.
3. Set the voltage selector to the appropriate mains voltage (16).
4. Remove the fuse (10).
5. Mark four mounting holes on the wall; use the template to mark the wall.
6. Drill four holes and mount the unit on the wall (1) using four nylon screw
anchors 6.3 x 2.2 mm and four Screw Pan Head ST 4.2 x 32 mm.
7. Mount the four batteries in the BCU-10 unit and secure using the mounting
bracket and bolts.
