D.2.1 Patch-Cord Adapters 

Patch-cords connectors and adapters are used for nonpermanent optical fiber 
connections. They provide a precision optical bond and connect the ODF cable 
termination module to the network element via a flexible fiber patch-cord. They are 
supplied in standard lengths with the following plug end connectors.

Main optical fiber cables support 8, 12, 24 and 48 fibers and a number of main 
cables may terminate in a single network site ODF. One or more adapters may be 
required for each optical fiber and cable termination modules are supplied in various 
configurations to provide for the requisite number of patch-cord adapters.
