4. Place the mounting bracket with the unit on the rack mounting shelf as
shown in Figure 4-6. Attach the mounting bracket to the shelf by means of a
single screw at the base of the mounting bracket.
5. Repeat Step 4 for additional units on the shelf. Up to 3 or 4 units can be
placed on a single shelf, depending on the model.
6. Attach the shelf to the rack as shown in Figure 4-7.
7. Close the protective door.
Equipment Grounding Requirements
Equipment should be grounded via the mounting brackets secured to the rack’s rails.
The sides of the mounting brackets facing the rails and the equipment must be
unpainted and electrically conductive. The conductivity of the mounting brackets to
the equipment frames (sub-racks) must be verified (below 0.2
Ω
).
