3. Drill the required mounting holes. It is recommended that you first drill holes
with a small diameter drill bit and then enlarge the holes using a 13 mm drill
bit. The holes must be 8 cm (3.2") deep. Insert the expansion shield into the
holes.
4. Position the bracket over the mounting holes.
5. Secure the unit to the wall using screws.
6. The wall mounting brackets grounding screw is indicated in Figure 4-3. It
must be connected to an external grounding bar by a 10 mm

(8 AWG)
grounding cable. The cable should be as short as possible, stranded and
terminated on both sides with screw terminals.
7. Verify good conductivity (below 0.2
Ω
) to the central grounding screw of the
rack.
Wall Mounting with Circuit Breaker Unit
1. Assemble the
µ
SDM-1 to the wall as described in paragraph 4.4.1 steps 1-7.
2. Remove the protective cover of the circuit breaker box (see Figure 4-4).
3. Route the power charger's power cable through the appropriate opening of
the integral cabinet strain relief.
a) Connect the positive voltage wire (+) to the left terminal block on the
top side (labeled DC Source 1 on the protective cover).
b) Connect the negative wire (-) to the left circuit breaker on the top side
(labeled DC source 1 on the protective cover).
c) Use the second circuit breaker/terminal block when connecting a
second power source.
4. Connect the
µ
SDM-1 power cable to the left terminal block.
a) Connect the red wire to the left terminal block.
b) Connect the black wire to the left circuit breaker.
5. Connect the supply end of the
µ
SDM-1 power cable to the J1
POWER
-
IN A
power cable connection port on the
µ
SDM-1 multiplexer.
6. Connect the power charger main cable to the AC main supply.
