MAC address
The permanent identifier for a device. It consists of six octets separated by colons, for
example, 00:20:A3:xx:xx:xx. The first six characters identify the manufacturer. Harmonic
assigns the next six characters as a unique device identifier.
Max Stream Identifier
The maximum range of the stream identifier. The numbers depend on the number of streams
and cannot be overlapping with the minimum range. The typical range should be 500 to

Mbaud
Megabaud, which is the signal rate of a line, expressed in millions. It can also be the switching
speed, or number of transitions (voltage or frequency changes), per second.
MCM
A card for the MN20 multiplexer which converts the M2P output to a SMPTE 310M output.
MCPC
Multiple Channel Per Carrier.
MCPC NIM
An MCPC NIM provides connection with wideband communications channels. It supports 15
to 30 Mbaud.
MDM
A card for the MN20 multiplexer which provides the means to visually monitor MPEG-2
transport streams through an onscreen display for
video only. The onscreen display
provides audio and video
and error condition information.
Mini EIS
An application that allows to configure an
network without having a CAS vendor’s Event
Information Scheduler (EIS).
