AHC
Audio adapter used in the Electra/Ion family of encoders. Can compress up to three stereo
pairs of digital audio into either MPEG-1 layer II, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AAC/HE AAC, or Dolby
Digital (AC-3) formats. The AHC has 3 variants: AHC-RAC, AHC-561, and the “On-board”
adapter, which is simply an AHC-RAC without external connectors (which means it can only
encode embedded audio).
AHC-561
Audio adapter used in the Electra/Ion family of encoders which hosts a Dolby Cat. 561
compression module. The Cat. 561 can transcode Dolby E to either Dolby Digital (AC-3) or
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3, see
) or Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital Plus.
AHC-RAC
Audio adapter used in the Electra/Ion family of encoders. Can compress a multi-channel
audio sound field (from either AES3 or embedded digital inputs, see
) into either Dolby
Digital (AC-3), Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3), or MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AAC or HE AAC. Alternatively it
can compress three unrelated stereo pairs of digital audio into either MPEG-1 layer II,
MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AAC/HE AAC/HE AAC v2, or Dolby Digital (AC-3).
AIC
Audio adapter used in the Electra/Ion family of encoders. Can compress two stereo pairs of
either analog or digital audio into either MPEG-1 layer II, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AAC/HE AAC, or
Dolby Digital (AC-3) formats.
AIM
A card for the MN20 multiplexer. Provides a DVB-ASI interface for the MN20 remultiplexer. It
accepts up to four MPEG-2 Transport Streams in the DVB-ASI electrical interface format (270
mbps).
Alarm Indicator
Displayed in the title bar of each web client page of the device. It appears in red when an
alarm is issued and notifies of a fault and of its nature.
AMOL
Automated Measurement of Lineups.
Any to Any Routing
Allows you to define a network group for connecting services from different input and output
devices in associated encoding and multiplexing network groups.
AOM
A card for the MN20 multiplexer. The AOM transmits MPEG-2 transport stream packets over a
155 MB/sec interface (either STS-3c/OC-3 or STM-1). The transport stream packets are first
encapsulated into ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL-5)
PDU
s then segmented into
ATM
cells. The
cells undergo ATM constant bit rate traffic shaping before egress to assure that the
appropriate quality of service is maintained. The AOM is an output option for the MN20
remultiplexer.
