4.5.1.0
Measurement
The
DPMC
measurement window opens and enables
you to firstly adjust the initial position of the patient.
There is a representative color for each position:
Verti-
cal
,
Horizontal
,
Inclined
or
Other
. Once you have
chosen the position, click on "
Start
"
to begin the meas-
urement. The patient hears the sound.
A progression bar informs you of the state of progress of a point. When the progression bar ends, the system adds a
point to the graph. This graph contains several kind of information:
•
The phase curve represents the measured phase shift value included between ±180°. The color of each point on
the curve depends on the position of the patient.
1.
The index given above is the phase shift value in degrees.
2.
The index, indicated in white below, is the ratio between the effective signal and the average noise in dB
(S/N). To validate a point, this value must be greater than 6 dB.
•
To help you in study of point, in the lower part of the graph, the system plots two solid curves.
1.
The green curve represents the effective signal.
2.
The red curve represents the average noise level.
3.
The 2 index displayed on the right are the Minimum/Maximum values are the effective and average noise
signals. These values are specific to the system and have no scientific value. Calculated in the electrical dB
(20*log(signal)), they are provided for information to allow qualitative comparison between several measure-
ments.
The patient must be as relaxed as possible during this stage.
The rejection level must be set so that the
◼
indicator light is activated when the patient blinks his eyes or
swallows. At rest, it should not be activated more than one or 2 times per second..
