4.3 ECochG
If a new measurement is run, the process is the same as
the one described above.
The new curve will be displayed overlaying the first.
This is a way of quickly displaying the repeatability of
the measurements.
It is possible to rerun up to five measurements in suc-
cession.
4.3.2
Measurement consultation
When consulting a
ECochG
, the following window appears and is a way of processing the curves. The initial purpose
of an
ECochG
is to locate typical waves emitted by the hearing nerve, that is, waves SP. AP, III and V. The presence or
absence of these waves and their time-related positioning will make it possible to detect the various pathologies.
For this purpose, the device proposes different tools:
•
The measurements made in succession are overlaid on one another with different colors to differentiate them. This
enables to verify the repeatability of the waves from a measurement to another.
•
At the top of the screen, there are buttons relative to each marker. Click on one of the buttons to move the corre-
sponding marker over the curves. To guide positioning, "normality" zones are greyed out (for AP, III and V) the
marker is positioned by simply clicking on the curve.
•
At the bottom right there is a button for adjusting the timescale of the curves making it possible to display 5 ms, or
10 ms (corresponding to the time elapsing after the stimulation click).

To be able to calculate the amplitude ratio between SP and AP, it is essential to determine a reference 0. To do
this, simply place the "0" marker at a point that appears to be closest to the center or to the baseline (in ordinates)
of the curve.
